Today I ordered five two page Studio J layouts. These are so close to my heart. I had an older brother who died shortly after birth. This left my Mother with some depression problems. When I was 5 1/2 Dad moved us to Kentucky so Mother could go to a special hospital for help fairly close by. Recently I found letters Dad wrote to Mom while she was in the hospital. I am sure this wasn't an easy thing since he was trying to find work to keep the family going. On these five layouts I put the letters (scanned so they were in digital form) some pictures and some things I remember about the time there. I love being able to include the letters written in Dad's own hand.
Taking a new path forward, this blog will now be used to keep you, the Grove community informed of significant observations and news to connect our Grove Public Schools and the community. You may contact me through my email if you have questions or issues you want to be addressed. Communication will be the Art to build the Heart of this wonderful town. pamsheartart@boltfiber.net

Stamp of the Month cards and Cardmaker Supreme Class for February 2014
Finally....my Heart Art Classes for the cardmakers!
The top picture is of the Stamp of the Month cards. This class is a minimum $15 order of product. Make these three cards using the Stamp of the Month. Learn some techniques like using the Spray Pen and enjoy working with Washi Tape and Glitter Trim.
The second picture is from my NEW Cardmaker Supreme class. In this class you will get the Hooray Bouquet stamp set, ($17.95) 10 White Daisy Cards and envelopes, 2 pages of Cricut flowers precut, a page of Sweet Leaf leaves and some extra paper of your choice in case you want to make the cards with a torn edge like the second row. Bring 3-D foam tape and adhesive with you. You can use my inks to stamp the colors of your choice or bring your own inks and blocks. This class is priced at $25 (shipping and tax included). You will leave with 10 cards completed but because you will have the stamps, you can make many more. You may purchase additional sheets of the Cricut flowers or leaves at a cost of $1 each or if you own our Art Philosophy cartridge, I can email the Cricut files to you.
This class will run the same time as Stamp of the Month cards and the Scrapbook Plus class. Please let me know if you want to create this class. Long distance? I can mail your cards and pieces to you for a cost of $6 when you order the stamp set on my website. -or- you already have this stamp set? I can get the pieces and cards to you for $6.

Warm your January with the Laughing Lola/Cricut team
Recently discovering the many things I can do with our Cricut Collections in conjunction with My Acrlix Stamp Sets and Cricut Craft Room has been lighting a fire in my creative spirit. You will reap the benefits should you decide to accept them--oh wait--too much Mission Impossible!
January is the last month to purchase a Laughing Lola card kit G1064 for $24.95. Yes, it has everything you need to make 15 cards (5 per design) except the inks and blocks. But beyond that, imagine what you can do to increase the value of your purchase.
Here you see the three cards you will be making plus the stamp set and the Cricut shapes you are instructed to cut in the kit. I was able to put all these shapes from our Artiste Cricut Collection on a virtual mat in Cricut Craft Room and then cut them all at one time by connecting my Cricut machine to the computer. Wow! Is this a time saver! So now I can make more cards easily perhaps stamping them in a different color and using other extra paper with the same stamps. (There is a brochure with a cutting guide. Let's say you make 2 more sets of cards--30. You will have made 45 cards for an investment of $24.95. Now that is a great bargain!
If you go to MY WEBSITE and order the Laughing Lola Cardmaking kit, I will reward you with a sheet of the Cricut cutouts as is pictured here. Plus, the first five who order it will get an ink pad of your choice. Who knows, Laughing Lola may warm your creative spirit too!

January Stamp of the Month Bloghop
Thank you for hopping over from Jean McNulty's Stampinmaui Blog.
For this Stamp of the Month set, I used the Proplayer paper.
Since I used several Artiste Cricut shapes, I decided to use the heart shape for a sponging template in the banner card. The "Sew Special" card contains a little emergency sewing kit. Great Valentine for your girlfriends! And the stairstep card (which folds to standard size) is perfect for that guy in your life.
Your next hopping stop will be the blog of Dawn Ross.
"Sew" glad you stopped by!

December 2013 Stamp of the Month Bloghop
Welcome to your next stop on the December Stamp of the Month Bloghop. You have arrived here from Dana Kessler's Blog and I am happy you are here. For my creations I used the Sparkle and Shine papers and Washi Tape. Washi Tape??? Yes it is employed to make the cute cupcake design on the first card. Just cut out the card with our Cricut Art Philosophy and you will be on your way. The stamp used on the inside is the "Pretreat......" one.
The second item, the door hanger treat box also features our wonderful glitter paper. The "Handle With Care" stamp is on the front of a tag that opens to reveal a message from you. Again this was cut with our Cricut Art Philosophy.
The third item is an easel photo holder card decorated with the glitter paper again. This card would also be great for Valentine's Day as the sentiment says "Warning: Hugs and Kisses Required"
Hope you have enjoyed your brief stop at my Heart Art. Now on to Michelle Stewart's blog for more creative inspiration.

November Stamp of the Month Bloghop--Illuminate
Illuminate
Thank you for hopping over from
Terry Ann Diack's Fabulous Creations
to see more Illuminate examples. For my cards I used the technique of stamping with our Black Pigment ink and embossing with the Clear Detail embossing powder. The pigment stays moist so it can grab the embossing powder easily. Just think --by using this method you can have any of our 40 colors as embossed.
Laughing Lola paper accents the element of light. Have to say I love Illuminate!
Now please hop on over to Michelle Stewart's Blog
for more great ideas.
Should you lose your way on this creative journey, you can get bearings again HERE

My New JN Project Classes
A wonderful thing is happening in our family. We are expecting our 15th grandchild--by adoption. Our daughter's family is in the process of adopting an 11 year old boy from the Philippines. He is currently in a Christian orphanage. Last summer he came to USA with a group and he met K& D's family and even spent a couple days with them. He perfectly fits in the 5 year gap between the first two boys. So many details have been orchestrated by God and we are so excited that this is happening.
As you know, adoption is very expensive. I have been trying to think of a way I could help with the expense through this blessing of a business. Here is the plan: Each month I will have a BYOP (bring your own paper) project for $5. For that fee you will receive the project instructions. You will cut and assemble the project yourself using your own supplies that you may have on hand. (no paper? you are welcome to purchase some from my stash. $.60 per sheet of cardstock and $.50 per sheet of Background and Texture paper.) If it is possible for you to come to my home to put it together, you can join the fun. If you would like to have the instructions but are a distance away, I can email them to you for the $5. A printed copy that I would mail would be $6.
I am excited about this to help you use your "stuff" and help with the adoption at the same time.
JN are the initials of the boy who will be adopted, thus the name of the project.
The first JN Project is for the Star Album pictured here.
Here you see the Star Album closed.
This way it can be folded away when it is
not on display.
The album is basically 6x6 when closed and
6 inches tall when unfolded. Therefore it would
be about 12 inches across when open.
Please email me at pajarrett@comcast.net to order your instructions or reserve your spot around my table either Friday morning 9:30 or Friday evening at 6:30 on November 15th.

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop
Thank you for hopping over from Connie Walsh's Blog to see what is happening
in the Jarrett artroom.
in the Jarrett artroom.
I chose to prepare the Stamp of the Month, Scandinavian Wishes, with the Frosted papers. I added the Silver Embossing to complete a soft but elegant look.
Other techniques are how to make the pink Cricut roses gracing two of the projects, coloring part of the heart design with our Twilight marker set, and stamping tissue paper to coordinate
with the gift box.
Now hop on to Terry Ann Diack's Blog .
She will have some amazing creations waiting for you, I am sure.
Until next time-----Pam

A Unique Way to use the Frosted WOTG
As I looked at the Frosted Workshop on the Go (G1070 $29.95) I noticed the pages could easily be divided in half. They would fit in our 6 x 12 Flip Flaps! The pictures below show how I made the pages as shown in the WOTG, cut the first two pages in half, slipped them in the Flip Flaps and attached them to the outside of a Memory protector. I apologize for the glare but needed to show the pages in the Flip Flaps and Memory protectors. There are several pieces cut with Cricut. If you do not have access to a Cricut and order this WOTG from me, I will cut your pieces for you as a service to help you make your pages.
The Frosted Workshop on the Go is shown on pages 52 and 53 of the Idea Book. The Idea Book is under Products on the ribbon at the top of MY WEBSITE You may go to the "Shop With Me" and place your order to get this free cutting service.
Flip Flaps are Z1325 $4.95 for (4) 6x12, (2) 4x12 and (2) 8x12 in the package.

September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop
Welcome as you have hopped from Judy Faye's Place . The Huntington paper packet stars with the Stamp of the Month , Poster Tidings. I tried to use the bigger stamps in some unique ways. Of course our Cricut cartridges helped quite a bit. Gotta love that!
Now I will send you on your way to Terry Ann Diack's garage- uh-blog so you can grab even more ideas of how to create using Poster Tidings. Have a great September!

The Studio J pictures for this Star album came today and I could not resist the time to put it together. I dyed some of our Color Ready Ribbon and sponged some For Always B&T paper with Blush to make it match the photos. Happy with the results!
I will be having a class for this soon. An album like this makes a wonderful gift that can be displayed easily or folded up and put away for another time.

Ready for a star album
In preparation for a scrapbooking display I am making a Star Album. I created this Studio layout with pictures and sayings to include in that album. Karen's wedding day was a true source of joy for us!
