Studio J--an easy way to preserve your memories

Nearly every one of the people I serve in my Close To My Heart classes has told me they LOVE the whole creative process--playing with papers and color then embellishing.  This "by hand" process is what we call "classic" and added to the classic way is the social aspect of being with some friends or making new ones as you learn a new technique or share one you have done before.  As a consultant I always come home elated at the time we have had together and am downright joyful and thankful for the opportunity to guide in the creative process.

However, there are times and situations where you (and I) may be in a time crunch or not have access to all those great things we have to take with us to create our project.  That is where Studio J comes in for me.  In July our daughter and family came here to Colorado to spend a few days.  It had been seven years since they were here at all and 15 years since Karen had been here in the summer.  They thoroughly enjoyed seeing a part of the country so beautiful and Karen's husband took many photos.  I asked him to put the pictures from his camera on my computer before they left.  What you see here are the first two of several layouts I am creating for them using Studio J.  I have kept them very simple and some of the journaling will be added by them to photo pockets.  Then because I can download the jpgs of these pages, I can have them printed in a smaller size for each of the boys at some later date.  If you would like to give Studio J a try, I will welcome any questions and would love to assist you.  The finished product is a treasure!

Cricut class for September

An exciting new product from Close To My Heart is the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and collection.  To show you how to use the cartridge with our stamps (perhaps how to use your Cricut machine!) there will be a Cricut class each month.  In the projects for September, a shadowbox 3-D page and a clear card, you will use backgrounds, leaves and labels all cut with the Cricut.  Something unique is the way CTMH has paired the shapes cut with Cricut with exclusive stamp images.  If you go to http://www.closetomyheart.com/ and look under Products on the home page, you will be able to view the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book page by page.  The Cricut collection is featured on page 13.  Any stamp you see with a red line around it is designed to be cut with Cricut and then stamped with any color to coordinate with our exclusive papers.  Honestly, this has opened up a whole new and tremendously fun world of creativity for me.  And I will share it with you gladly!  The class costs a minimim $15 order plus shipping and tax.  I furnish all the materials and you even have them cut for you.  I will also give a Cricut demonstration so you can see firsthand how things were made.   My Cricut classes for September in my home are Monday, September 19th at 1:00 PM and
6:30 PM .  I am open to come to you for a class so just ask.  So much fun!

Blessed are the cardmakers

Blessed are the card makers so we are not leaving them out! If you choose to make the cards at playgroup, you will make the cards in the picture. SOMETHING NEW IN SEPTEMBER each person attending class will make a TECHNIQUE TAG to keep for reference. That way you can afford to give away those precious "card babies" to bless someone else. Fun! The cost to make the cards is the same as the pages
.

A very fulfilling part of my job as a Close To My Heart independent consultant is to continually be creating "Heart Art" and then teaching people how to make those creations themselves. Now that I have retired from my go-to-work-everyday job I am hoping to do even more of what I love. When you spend time doing something you love, it is not work at all!

If you have ever thought, "I would love to make a scrapbook" or "I need to make a scrapbook" I have the perfect plan for you. You can come to one of my monthly playgroup meetings and make a two page layout using many of my supplies. That way you end up with 24 pages completed at the end of the year! Instruction is always free so the "cost" of my class is a minimum $15 Close To My Heart order plus shipping and tax. What a bargain! There are some basic supplies you need to bring and I will be glad to discuss this with you when you call me a 970-285-9230 or email me at pajarrett@comcast.net.
