In the December Board Meeting, Superintendent Dodson told us about the Safe Routes to School Plan the Grove City Council would be considering. The minutes from their January 7th meeting read this way.:
Jill Ferenc, Project Manager, Associate Planner of TSW Planning, Architecture and Landscaping Firm was present by phone to present the Safe Routes to School Plan.
Ferenc discussed this plan is intended to outline a clear vision with achievable action items to make walking and biking to school a safe and easy experience.
Ferenc entertained questions and comments from the council and staff. The presentation lasted approximately 20 minutes.
Stewart made the motion Approve of a Resolution adopting the Safe Routes to School Plan as presented. Seconded by Dyer. AYE: Thomas, Stewart, Dyer, Devitt, Trumbull. NAY: None. Motion Carried.
This project will be funded by the town for the benefit of the school and the community. As I understand it, the project will be conducted in phases. That's good news!
