This is some of the news about Solar Panels that was presented
at the February 11th School Board Meeting.
First of all, the Board unanimously voted to pursue a contract with Brightwell/820 to place solar panels on the roofs at the High School and PAC. This will take consultation with lawyers to enter into a legal agreement.
Facts about the panels and Brightwell:
Brightwell has had a good working relationship with PSO on previous projects and they will continue to work with PSO on this project.
Brightwell assures an agreement which includes insurance , maintenance and service for the panels with no initial capital outlay for the school district.
The panels are rated for hail abatement and up to 140 mph winds.
The panels are manufactured in Washington State and South Carolina. One of those two sources will be manufacturing the panels used on our buildings.
The installation will not involve putting holes in the roof. Rather the panels will be mounted using a rail and clamp system. The work will have a 100% warranty.
