September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome as you have hopped from Judy Faye's Place .  The Huntington paper packet stars with the Stamp of the Month , Poster Tidings.  I tried to use the bigger stamps in some unique ways.  Of course our Cricut cartridges helped quite a bit.  Gotta love that!
Now I will send you on your way to Terry Ann Diack's garage- uh-blog so you can grab even more ideas of how to create using Poster Tidings.  Have a great September!

The Studio J pictures for this Star album came today and I could not resist the time to put it together.  I dyed some of our Color Ready Ribbon and sponged some For Always B&T paper with Blush to make it match the photos.  Happy with the results!
I will be having a class for this soon.  An album like this makes a wonderful gift that can be displayed easily or folded up and put away for another time.

Ready for a star album

In preparation for a scrapbooking display I am making a Star Album.  I created this Studio layout with pictures and sayings to include in that album.  Karen's wedding day was a true source of joy for us!

Studio J for smaller albums

Here are the easy steps:
1.  Create a top notch layout in Studio J.
2.  Purchase the layout and save the free jpgs.
3.  Create smaller photo wells in the No Limits design of Studio J
4.  Insert your jpg of the layout in the smaller photo wells.
5.  Purchase your new layout.
6.  Put the smaller pictures of the layout in a smaller album.

Left:  No Limits with jpgs in smaller photo wells
Right: Original jpg in Studio J
Here is a smaller album for treasured memories made with our
6x6 Flip Flaps.
I would love to show you how to do this!

Look What Came in the Mail Today

A Studio J  order came today.  I was delighted to find these things inside:

Top layout is of our family through the years.  Now that I have the jpg of the layout in Studio J I can make a copy of this layout for each of my children.  The second single page is of our church singing group in 1966.  I just digitized (scanned) the photos and put these in a layout I built from the foundation up.  A two page layout processed by the highest quality in the photo industry is only $6.95.  You can put your photos anywhere on the layout and make them any size in Studio J.
I have Digital Divas class twice a month to give you free instruction of preserving your memories in Studio J.  Please contact me at (970) 285-9230 or pajarrett@comcast.net for more information.

More uses for Studio J

If you can scan it, you can scrap it--in Studio J
I am finding Studio J so useful, easy, and economical for getting family history pages finished.
The bonus is that once created, I can make as many copies as I need.  The following two examples will go in scrapbooks I am making for each of my three children.
This is the page containing a 148 year -old document of my Great Great Grandfather's discharge from the Civil War.  By scanning it and putting it in the No Limits page design I was able to add  photowells for the scans of the document and add a history of my search for it as well as some history found online at the Indiana State Library in journaling boxes.

For my personal scrapbook I had put some of our old family snapshots in Flip Flaps ( 6 X 12)I discovered I could scan the pictures right from the previously scrapped page and again using No Limits to re-create the page so it can be cut down the middle to use in Flip Flaps for my childrens' albums.  Again it will be easy to get copies enough for that project.
This is how it looks in my album.
This is the Studio J version.  I was able to edit the photos in Studio J and make them brighter and a little more acceptable to look at.

I would love to show you how to use Studio J so the purposes that would benefit you.  Please call me at (970) 285-9230  or email me at pajarrett@comcast.net to set up an appointment with me.    I can give instruction over the phone if you are long distance.

New Team Name

I have a wonderful group of ladies who are on my team as Close To My Heart independent  consultants.  Recently I changed our team name to Heart Artists to reflect the artistic expression of our craft of projects from the heart.  This includes scrapbook pages, both made with papers and embellishments and digital online ones, cards, gifts, and home decor items.  If these endeavors are of interest to you, I would love for you to become a Heart Artist too.  The Essentials kit to get started is only $49 and includes  $155 worth of great art products. The support I give my team is our own Facebook and Yahoo groups, a monthly team meeting to create projects for the next month, and help for any question over the phone or computer.  Many people become consultants to get a discount on our great products and have easy access to them.  Business building is also a possibility with CTMH.  Please email me at pajarrett@comcast.net if you would like more information on becoming a Heart Artist.

July 2013 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop--"Sweet Life"

So glad you hopped over from
Paper Crafting With Heart by Nancy Womersley
WELCOME!!!

Celebrate the "Sweet Life" with the fruits of your artistry in this hand-drawn look stamp set with beautiful apple, peaches and cherries and sentiments to coordinate.
While the photography may look a little messy, I wanted you to see the technique with which I colored in the images.  You stamp the image on some glossy or photo paper and cut out certain parts of the image to create a template.  Stamp the image on your card piece and lay the template over your image so you can sponge color onto your card.  I also used the  Desert Sand watercolor pencil to color in the branches.  The white blossoms were made with our Chalk Marker.  The Glitter paper adds some dazzle to the look.  I  used the Desert Sand pencil lightly with cross hatch marks around the fruit for a bit more texture.  I loved the look of these cards when I finished!
Now hop on over to  Jean McNulty's Stampin' in Maui
to complete your journey.

June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop--A Flowering Bunch

Hope you are having fun on your blog hop!  You have arrived from Tamra Pope's Blog  and seen some gorgeous artwork along the way.  Look for the link to your next blog spot at the bottom of my post
I created an extra card for this month's Stamp of the Month class. Techniques are:
Tulip and Dress cards---Sponge the B&T paper with Buttercup ink to create a soft look and work with the Cricut Artiste cutouts
Flower Bunch and Thanks a Bunch cards--coloring with our Alcohol Markers Watercolor pencils.
Thanks a Bunch card--using the negative cutout from the Artiste flower to sponge Twilight color on the card and then stamp the flower image over it.
Please note several of the images in this stamp set can be cut with our Cricut Artiste cartridge.  Just cut several extra shapes and you will have them ready to make a quick card.  I will confess I learned to use the "Flip" button on my Cricut since the two leaves are different directions.  A simple thing but it is always good to keep discovering new things about our great Close To My Heart products!
Now keep hopping on over to Karen Fullam's Blog to see more fantastic artwork.

June Schedule and Projects

June will be shorter month for me here so the Heart Art classes are all in the first half of the month.  Here is what you could make in a Heart Art class:

If your choice is the pages, you will use the Chantilly papers to make the design.  I will supply the papers and pearls but the extra chipboard complements would be something you order if you want your pages to look like mine.  The cost for the pages is a minimum $15 order plus shipping and tax.

Should you want to make the cards, the cost is a minimum $17.50 order plus shipping and tax.  There are four cards this time.  The pieces will be all cut out and ready for you to put together.  See the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop to find out technique details.  You will learn a lot at this Heart Art class!

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Thank you for hopping over from {Judy Faye Garner's Blog} as you make the creative circle to see artwork by Close To My Heart consultants featuring the May Stamp of the Month, Pinwheels.
My cards feature a technique with the stars and pinwheels to give them extra shine and sparkle (a little hard to see here but impressive in person.)  To achieve this mix half and half our Z134 Prisma Glitter and our Z821 Clear Detail Embossing Powder.  Stamp the image and immediately sprinkle with our shine mixture.  Heat with the heat tool and "Voila" a spectacular result.  Add a Pink Glitter Gem (Z1807) and let the celebration begin.
Now hop on over to {Hooked On Stamping} with Helen Onulak to see more  excellent "Pinwheel"  artwork!

Preserving Newspaper Clippings, Old Pictures, and Formerly Created Layouts
with Studio J

I found some old newspaper clippings from 1966 that I wanted to put in my personal scrapbook.
An idea struck and I am so happy with the results.  I mounted the clippings on black cardstock and Jean's Printing in Rifle scanned them as jpgs to my flashdrive.  Here is what the scans look like:

The next step was to go to my my online business address
and select Studio J from the ribbon at the top .
I created a new project and selected the LaBelle la Vie papers and the "No Limits" layout design.
I dropped each jpg in one side of the page and them decorated and embellished adding journaling.
Here was the result!
I LOVE IT!!!!!  Let me show you how to do this!  We can even work over the phone if you are long-distance.   These are now perfectly preserved on 12 x 12 pages with the highest quality photo printing which will last 100 years.   The cost is so reasonable at $6.95 for two pages.
You can even have your formerly created scrapbook pages scanned and insert them in No Limits.
That is what I did for this one.
And one last example:  I had placed some paper called Notebook on these pages and added my school pictures--nothing else.  I had those pages scanned, dropped them into No Limits and selected Notebook as my papers in Studio J.  I was then able to add my tags for the years and the journaling.  SO EASY!!

I would love to share the satisfaction of preserving your memories with Studio J.  Let me show you how!

April Blog Hop for the Stamp of the Month, My Sunshine
You are just about finished hoppin' but I am so glad you came by.
My Stamp of the Month items are also the card projects for my customers this month.  As happens from time to time in life, I was seriously limited in time to create.  I looked at the examples using this stamp set (page 141 in the Idea Book) and gleaned the shading of the balloons for one card and the general design of the bird card for another one.  The little gift box, cut from our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, was suggested as a gathering project.  That information is available and a perk to all Close To My Heart consultants!
Now hop on over to Helen Onulak's blog to complete your blog hopping circle.  I am certain you saw many things you want to make yourself!

Also using the Tommy papers, I used this design by Rachael Elder for the Heart Art pages for the month.  If you choose to make the pages in a Heart Art class this month, you will receive the papers already cut and the ribbon.  The letters and banner are from the Canvas Shape Complements you can order to make your pages look like mine.
You have two more projects you can make during Heart Art classes in April, the notecard box and the Hinged Display tray.  Just let me know if either of these is your choice for a handmade gift, perfect for Mother's Day!
April Heart Art Classes and Creative Opportunities
